I had the chance to drive the newest JWT turbo Z last night with great pleasure. I am very very impressed with them. The car has ported manifolds and minor head work. Oh...and a fresh stock Nissan shorty! Anyway....if you have driven a sport 500 car you are going to feel something familiar....only now...there more of it. Low end touque. This car pulled in second gear right out of the gate in LOW RPM like a V8! There is NO turbo lag that you can feel (of course the turbos have to spool - but these babies come on early right where the motor needs it). Though this car had some street tires (which would blow away in second) i was able to get a feel for it. 3rd and 4rth don't seem to have too much more ultimate power (than the 500's) but they do pull up high all the way to redline much like my GT2530's do. I predict this car will put down high 480's and maybe squeeze 500 out of her. They still dont seem to have quite the effeciant feeling up top that the 2530's do...but with all that low end...it is amazing they pull up high as well as they do. We lined it up next to a sport 500 car and made several pass's from a roll - the results were unexpected for sure - and impressive. I have never seen big turbo car pull so early on a sport 500 car in second gear. Before we made boost in the 500 car - the 535 equiped car had pull 1/2 a car length. It pulled until we reached full power at 4500 RPM's and got us by maybe a full car by the end of 3rd with a good driver. I would say it will put ABOUT 3/4-1 full car in every gear on a sport 500 car with the same traction ( 500 car had drag radials). It felt like 30 hp more to the seat of my jeans. Anyway for those of you out there not sure what these are doing on the street in real world conditions...thats my take on it. If i was in the market for a mild street set-up turbo to beat Vipers and alike with and drive daily....id be all over them. If i had 500's though...i would not run out and spend the money upgrading! Well...time to see if Seedy posted the BS that went on last night at some local street racers hang out....see ya :-)
